Some of the pd handpiece specifications include light weight (less than 78 gm.), a body – bur angle of 105°, and overall length not to exceed 133 mm. plus connector of 30 mm + or – 2 mm. A neck diameter is preferred to be 9 mm and end body diameter of not more than 14 mm. Bur stopping time should be less than a second. Smaller and lighter handpieces are easier to control for females as they have smaller hand dimensions. Heavier and larger unbalanced handpieces compromise pd operator performance through engaging more fingers and more muscle bracing. The Morita and SABRA handpieces have a GEPEC pd Acceptable Rating:
